so all of you who have granite - please tell me why and how good it really is.

my worktops need replacing. i got a joiner who has quoted me for laminate worktop and tiling a total of
£1400.!!

ive had a quote for real granite at £1800. seems to make more sense to go for the real granite when you look at the quote for the laminate one!

so ive got a local firm coming tomorrow to measure up and quote proper.

im really tempted. tell me why granite is a good idea and i think it may tip me over the edge!

I would certainly recommend granite or quartz or wood over laminate. Laminate gets tired looking very quickly in my experience. If the difference is only £400 and you can afford it, then I would be tempted too.

(There may be some green issues, but I'm sure laminte has some issues too.)

Just had a look at the Zodiaq and just thought I'd mention it as I had brought up green before, but this looks lovely and a lot of it is made of recycled glass and I believe ground up off cuts of quartz and stones so that might up the green credentials
