Hi all
Am looking at the PAX wardrobes online & wondered if anyone has them & are happy? I obviously need to go to the shop to see them in the flesh but does anyone have the PAX wardrobes with the tempered glass? If so, is it dark enough so you can not see your clothes through the glass? I do not mind if you can see a shadow iygwim. Thanks!

I don't have them myself, but did help a friend assemble hers.

It was a nightmare. Having made the frame we went to tip it up and the bottom part snapped. We ended up having to re-build it, in reverse, and then having to drill new holes for the hanging rail.

Its nothing more than chipboard and not particularly sturdy until the doors (which are incredibly heavy) are on. She has the tempered glass and yes, you can see through them. And apparently the doors were a nightmare too, even for her friend who is an accomplished DIY-er.

I think with Ikea you get what you pay for. But don't discount them, just be wary and know that they aren't all that solid.

Don't have the tempered glass, but we have PAX wardrobes and they have been great. Dh had no problems putting them together and the way you can arrange the space to your own design is really useful.

We have them and they have been fine. They are big so an issue to put up from that persepctive, but otherwise there have been no problems

We have PAX wardrobe (along many other IKEA furniture pieces) although with plain doors and it has been fine for us. It is not very sturdy, but sturdy enough when the wardrobe gets stuffed with things. I think you would see through tempered glass, though. Good luck with your decision.

We have PAX and LOVE them Have had the oldest ones about 11 years, we have dismantled them and re-assembled them 3 times for house moves.

Interior fittings are cheap and easily changeable. The only thing to remember is when you move them don't forget to lift the adjustable feet up (broke mine) if you look in the very bottom of the wardrobe base there are 2 holes at the front that a screw comes through, that attaches to a plastic foot and it is how you level the wardrobe.

I have put together wardrobes from other places like B&Q and Homebase for other people and much prefer mine, sturdy and well made.

Re the tempered glass, you can easily either get frosted film which is a doddle to put on

www.abodewindowfilms.co.uk or line it with paper (I have done this with a chest of drawers from Ikea that has a plastic front)
