Do any of you have granite floor tiles?

We're just about to lay white granite floor tiles with sparkly bits in on the bathroom floor. I was just wondering, do you have spaces with grout in between them or are they closely fitted together.

DH is an ace tiler, but has never laid granite before.

Thanks xxxx

We have marble bathroom floor and there's grout between the tiles. Not much help, sorry.

Mr Rollmops here,

Lay them just like tiles but be mindful of cutting them. DH will need a fairly serious piece of kit to cut them. This is best done in the garden with nothing (house, washing etc.) downwind as the dust is pretty impressive.

I thoroughly recommend underfloor heating as there is no greater luxury (that I can write here than walking barefoot on a warm floor on a winter morning. There are kits on ebay for a couple of hundred quid and you can't change your mind about it later.

I'm a real marble convert so the bathrooms are done out floor to ceiling.

Thanks very much for your help.

He has the tiles laid out with a very small gap between them, intends to cut them with his water cooled tile saw, which is half decent, so I think that will be okay.

Its a teensy bathroom and the radiator pipes run right below it so its roasting hot. In fact the cat is often to be found lying on the floor in there lol. Many many thanks for your reply!

Just to add... we've just had granite floor tiles fitted in our kitchen. I noticed that the Tiler used normal 'spacers' (as you would on wall tiles) and then he grouted as per usual.

It looks really good....

... good luck to your DH!
