I went there on holiday once!

Very beautiful but remote in parts. Friend's brother lived an hour's drive from the nearest town which was a tiny place. Not sure it would suit me!

Where are thinking of moving from?

What do you need to know? I'm from Derry (the neighbouring county). It's beautiful with some wonderful beaches and great scenery but depending on the time of year it can also be very bleak. Most of it is pretty isolated too.

I loved it t here when I went in the eighties, but someone told me it has been showered with heinous bungalows because of the boom in Ireland and the lack of any kind of planning restrictions!
Don't know if this is true!

Spent holiday there in 2007. Based just outside Ardara. Ditto lack of planning laws make for uncontrolled building of identikit bungalows even to the end of the most remote single track roads ( I live in Scotland where planning is more restricted in scenic areas)

Donegal town lovely and countryside inland very pretty. Liked Letterkenny market town.

Also very tip of Donegal, Portsalon and Buncrana and Moville. They told me many people live in Donegal and educate their kids in Derry can't quite remember but lots of cross border movement on daily basis.
