Its fairly narrow and dark , although the landing is lighter. All the doors are stripped pine , the floor in the hall is original quarry tiles. Im looking at farrow and ball or fired earth paint chart. Im not keen on neutral or beige type colours. I dont want the woodwork white , or a shade of white , as I find the paintwork gets grubby quickly in the hall with 2 dds and 2 dogs. Ive got a tester pot of duck egg (fired earth) but I dont know what colour for the woodwork. the house was built in 1922. Help me oh lovely mumsnetters.

Is there something in the same tone just a bit darker in the wood paint ( i tend to use satin wood type paint and coordinated colours can work if it is the same tone.)
