Wer're seriously considering moving to the Peak District in the next couple of years and aim to be in the Bakewell/Hope Valley area. My concerns are: i) we may move when dc are still in primary school what are the rural primaries like will it be a real shock for children from an inner city school with 30 to a class? ii) Does the peak district get a lot of noise pollution at the weekends from gangs of motor bikers racing along the country roads and if so what areas to avoid??

Some good primaries in the area you are considering. They have every chance of doing well and enjoying the change. Not aware of motorbike problems but of course there may be some busy days - is it the Matlock area that they go to? It is a popular tourist area of course and there are a lot of people in tearooms, carparks etc. but you can't have it all to yourself .
