Small bathroom...tiles or paint?

I know we'll need tiles around the shower and sink splash areas but can't decide whether to tile the whole bathroom (with large tiles as I understand the smaller the bathroom the bigger the tile) or use lining paper and bathroom paint to make it feel cosier.
Was just worried that it may feel a bit cold if it's completely tiled.

Any thoughts much appreciated X

I personally like tiles for their lovely cleanability and also, wallpaper can lift in the moist atmosphere of a bathroom. What about tiles up to half way up the wall, then painted wall for some colour/warmth?

Thanks LLW, was wondering about that option but wondered if it would make the room look smaller with the half and half effect, food for thought though, Thanks !

I'd go with light large tiles all over and use the same tiles for the floor as well.
Makes the small room look larger.

Large, light coloured, rectangular tiles with the longest edge running horizontally will make the room look biggest

Oh - and laid like house bricks rather than directly above each other iyswim ?

Apparently so - makes the walls look longer. It seemed to work in our teeny bathroom
