Need to cover up built in wardrobes without doors?

I had some wardrobes built into my room but to buy doors to put on will work out quite expensive.

I am thinking of covering them with curtains, just so that you cannot see everything inside. But not sure if that will just look cheap and tacky. Any ideas please and inexpensive? The wardrobe takes up one whole wall of my bedroom...

curtains would probably look ok, or roller blinds? how long exactly?

Its the whole length of one wall, all the way up to the ceiling... Not great with measurements...
