front door recommendations

hi. we need to replace our front door. really don't want a UPVC one, want a sturdy wooden one, but treated so it doesn't swell in rain etc. I've seen a specific style on other people's houses but can't find it online and I'm not brave enough to stick a note through the doors sayin "where did you get the door"? i've seen it mainly on new builds - i'm pretty sure it's wood - very glossy finish with two long rectangular etched glass panels. Can anyone find anything similar online, or tell me where you got yours?

thanks in advance

sounds like composite ones you've seen on new houses - look more like wood than upvc
google composite doors and you'll get loads of website that sell them and photos of examples of styles

btw I would summon up courage to ask people where they got their from if you really like it. I asked a neighbour who did their windows as they had really nice frames and so we will use the same company when the time comes. People take it as a compliment, so no need to feel shy about asking!

Have you tried your local Joinery? They could design, make and finish a door to your exact requirements. Whereabouts in the country are you? If by chance you are in Kent, I can recommend a very good company that I have used, that specialise in windows and doors.
