Fantastic news - we completed just before Christmas and also had an amazing solicitor - I dropped in a bottle of champagne as a thank you.

Congratulations

Congratulations.

I'm also getting a house for Christmas.

I'm in Scotland. We went to see a house on Saturday. Put in an offer on Monday which was rejected. Put in a revised final offer on Tuesday which was accepted. Up here that means neither party can back out or you can sue for breach of contract.(or something like that). Paper work is being done and we should get the keys end of Jan.

congratulations dilemma, fantastic news.
Also nice to read your compliments regarding your solicitor. I used to work at a few firms of solicitors and trust me, even a card to say how pleased you are with the service would be nice. Anything more than that would be an added bonus. We only normally hear from whinging clients afterwards

Hope the move goes ok

Congratulations dilema - here's hoping for a smooth exchange/completion. W

We completed nearly 3 qweeks ago & on the day of completion we didn't get the keys to the new house until nearly 3pm as our crap solicitor hadn't done the chaps transfer to our vendor's solicitor. Was mega p*ssed off as we'd ensured our funds were in place a few days earlier!

Good luck

Brilliant news dilemma

We're hoping to exchange early Jan - it is utterly nervewracking.

SugarSkyHigh · 23/12/2009 19:21

Congratulations! At least now nothing can go wrong...... (famous last words) ... what I mean is, though, you have completed and the house is yours! Hope you are very very happy there.
