Have you used a stud finder??

Of the hammering nails in the wall type as opposed to hot stud-muffin.....

We need to hammer a LOT of hardware into our walls and it strikes me we should invest in a stud detector or finer but DO they do what they claim on the tin? I see B&Q have 2 models, one about £12, the other seemingly identical except for colour and the word 'professional' on it at £18. Is one rubbish??

obvious jokes aside. dh has one it is a bit hit and miss but worth it if you are doing loads of potential stud finding. i suspect the 'professional' one will just have slightly more metal housing to make the owner feel like a real workie.
