Decorating a room, what should I do in what order?

I am planning on decorating my living room this week which will involve putting lining paper on walls, painting lining paper, glossing woodwork (windowsills, skirting boards and door frames), and I think I should paint ceiling too.

What order should I do these jobs in?

Also any tips on removing wallplugs from walls? They are everywhere!

lining paper or ceiling first

then paint lining paper

then gloss

  1. scraping and any sanding work
  2. prepare the walls before lining paper (fill cracks, sand down bumps, seal and cover stains)
  3. paper the walls
  4. paint ceiling
  5. first coat walls
  6. first coat woodwork
7 .final coat(s) walls
  1. final coat (s) woodwork

we've just gone this! x

and to remove rawl (sp?) plugs I have always screwed a screw into them and then yanked them out with a pair of pliers (holding the screw just under the head) hth
