Should be moving today but instead sitting on computer

Today is the day when the whole chain said that they were aiming for completion and instead of being surrounded by packing boxes I'm surrounded by the wooden trainset all nicely laid out for playing and not a single box in sight .

We still not exchanged and I doubt now whether we'll even be moving next week. I'm so down on it all. I don't know what to do, I've done everything to try and push this chain along, my solicitor has done everything but Mrs Swineflu is completely uncontactable now and so the whole chain can't progress.

I think today I'm going to go and sit in the EA office until she sorts it. Its not like I have anything better to do, I was meant to be moving so I've got no kids here and no work to go to. I suppose I could do my tax return but that would just send me over the edge I think . I did the retail therapy thing yesterday so thats out so its the EA office it is.

And at 10 to 5 our solicitor called to say that our FIRST TIME BUYERS who I hasten to add were ready for exchange weeks ago now can't exchange because, and wait for it,

THEY'VE GOT A PROBLEM WITH THEIR ASSOCIATED SALE .

How can that be? They have said all a long they're 1st time buyers. I really don't understand any longer. The whole chain is full of liars from top to bottom and we're caught in the middle.

it happened to me
the estate agent lied - they weren't cash buyers at all. this was last year and the market then crashed so we ended up renting our house out as couldn't sell.
So you have my sympathies!

good luck!

needanamefast I can't believe that the EA lied.

Until we started out on this moving malerky I had this stupid belief that the vast majority of people were on the whole honest. That has been totally shattered. It would appear that everyone in the chain bar us are big fat liars. I can't stand liars, there's nothing worse imo.

I think I'm going to open a book on when we actually exchange. We've been told tomorrow but I think my money is on Dec 8th 2010!!!!

Tomorrow will tell I guess.

Good luck, sounds a nightmare. We had a chain with horrible liers too, an exchange and completion date was agreed all the way through, then when we got there some people higher up the chain wouldn't because they were moving to France and their new house wasn't built and they KNEW that would be the case. They just wanted to make sure that everyone was ready to exchange on the later date they wanted. SO we all waited. But my faith in human nature was dented because we just wouldn't have lied like that. My hubby had driven all the papers where they needed to be for the solicitor rather than go by post so we could get everything done in time

All bets for exchange today are off. Too many solicitors in the chain are out of the office today and because its got sooooo complex only the solicitors who have been handling the cases can do the exchange. So we're being told tomorrow pmsl.

One day tomorrow will come for us but it does feel like it might come this week realisitically. I really really hope so, I've seriously had enough.

Rebl, I've kind of lost track but don't you have a drop-dead date after which you no longer want this house because it will be too late for your school application - or have I confused you with someone else?

Yes we do, 18th December.
