postbox in gate

i am getting a new wooden external gate and want to have a post box in the gate. i thought that was pretty simple but looking on the web, there are very few available. certainly none that suit my purposes.

am i googling for the wrong term? what would you call it, and can you recommend a good company to buy from?

What will you do about the security of your letters?

Especially if you go away or you are at work when the post arrives?

Theives wanting your identity will steal your post if they get the chance

Also, don't put your name on the box cos otherwise people can arrive at the door and say hello mrs smith and you may think they are official but they really just read it on the postbox

I think you should google letter box rather than postbox.

Even Argos sell them these days

I agree that if you are away you will need someone to empty your mail box for you.

fizzylemonade - thanks for the link, but i'm looking for a slot that you'd put your post in. the gate is locked. the post would go into a catcher (waterproof) at the back and is also locked.

yes, we'd have to get people to empty the box if we're away.

have googled letterbox, postbox and mailbox.

The Royal Mail will also do a keep safe service while you're away so no need to worry about overflowing letterboxes or getting people to empty it for you.
