I need help!

Just downloaded this today and I love it- you can design anything! I have been redesigning my living room but I am really stuck on how to draw/design cushions and curtains. I have imported sofas and other furniture but I want to design the other stuff myself and I can't!

Any tips?

Tutorial

Have you seen this, there is a tutorial on how to make some chairs. DH downloaded it a while back and DS uses it for his homework sometimes. He had to do a park and ride last week and it looked very professional.

Yes I've looked at quite a few tutorials.

It's more about getting the 'puffy' quality of a cushion/pillow. I guess I will just have to keep practising...

It is very cool!

anyone else ever used it?

I'd recommend it!

We used it to design our extensio. It was fab. And in someways bizarre that when we moved back into the house, the room was exactly as the images - right down to furniture etc.

It certainly made the transition easier for the DC as we showed them the images whilst in the temporary rented accommodation so they would know what to expect.

So you must be pretty good at it- how did you do it? By importing objects or by drawing them all?

Did you just work it all out through practise?

DH did it and got quite good. He imported most objects (helped that we were furnishing from Ikea!)

What I found it useful for was working out dimensions of furniture we were thinking of buying and checking they weren't so big they would swamp the room. If we couldn't find the exact furniture to import, we would import something similar and resize it to the right scale.

It does tale a while to get good at it (I tried it out for a while but got frustrated by it), but the results are definitely worth it.

Yes I am loving it! So far my model looks cool but I need to redesign it to the right dimensions- I didn't bother the first time- just guesstimated!!
