Ok i need to plan lights for a long bathroom, a kitchen which is getting nbigger and currently has a flurecent strip light in it and a new sitting room - my instint says spotlights but mh dh isnt s spot light fan though if thats the best can come up with then so be it. It must be modern oh and hes tight so best nto cost the earth thogh he is into energy saving so cheap to run....

When i say spotlights i mean the ones that are in your ceiling so ceiling is like a pepper pot initially. ALso its a newish build with regular height ceilings.

I really wanted a row of funky pendant lights together with spotlights in our kitchen, but because of the ceiling height, it would never ever be an option.

Bathroom I'd definitely do recessed lights in the ceiling, plus something special over each mirror.

You can put energy saving bulbs in the recessed lights with no problem.
