We are moving next week. Most stuff is going into storage for a couple of months (we are moving in with my mum temporarily), but some stuff is coming with us.

I am in that in between time when I have packed everything that we don't need right now, but can't pack the stuff we are taking with us yet. I can't pack up the kitchen because I need to cook for the next week.

I look around and there is still so much to do, but I can't find things to pack that we won't need for the next week.

What do I do next!???

Breathe it is all to do with planning and working out what you will be eating and therefore cooking with and what you will be wearing.

I would cook ahead and freeze it so you just need to pop whatever it is in the oven but don't need all the pans/utensils/grater etc for actually making it. Or do take away for last evening at least.

I am a fan of the slow cooker so you can prep it all before in the morning, wash up and pack it away.

Oh and I have also used disposable lasagne foil tray so I didn't even need to wash up the lasagne dish. Hey, ho, but I only had one child back then!

I will hopefully be moving early next year so will no doubt be tearing my hair out too

me too!! Busy packing up our things in cyprus ready to move back to UK (complete on UK house today and move back next wed!!) Have arranged things to come out of storage and collection of DH's car. Also Dog is being exported too- not with us but a few days later.

Place here looks like a bomb has hit it- we are using all the old sheets, towels and clothes we should have thrown away ages ago. Out to friends for tea and loads of meals called pasta surprise - the surprise being it gets everything in it that needs using up. DH can;t wait for normal food again- I anticipate that around 21st Nov I might be able to grant his wish!!

we have one room which is our not being packed room, and this has the stuff for UK (Ie warm clothes) packed and various bags, cases with stuff to keep us goinguntil we leave the island and gets dumped and stuff which we will take with us.

DD today has to pack enough toys she can carry and to last her 6 weeks till the rest of her toys reappear- she is not looking forward to this!!

We packed up our house in Oz to rent it out whilst we moved to the UK. We left some stuff in the (sealed) loft space but we were still frantically shoving stuff up into the loft, 2 very small DCs at our feet the morning of the day we flew out, as the contract cleaners arrived to give the place a pre-rental clean and the first tenants were arriving the following day. What a total nightmare. We were staying at a local hotel for the last 2 nights, thankfully....
