which colour curtains?

Hello - I am about to paint our living room a cream (with many helpful suggestions from a previous thread). I am useless with colour, and my problem is that there is a dusky pink carpet insitu that can't be removed. (rented house)

What colour curtains should I buy? If 'natural' then how dark or light? Cream on cream seems alittle dull but maybe I just can't visualise it?

Any suggestions are most appreciated.

slate grey or blueish grey?

plain or paterned

in our other house we had blue carpet and pink curtains and parterend suite

both pink and blue were dusky

suppose it's a bluey grey..

and plain

how about a patterned cream pair to add some texture
I am assuming the sofa, carpet and walls are all plain?

all plain...I think a pattern is required, don't really want to be flowery. Ticking is my favourite, but am not paying for handmade curtains for a house we are not going to be in for alot longer (hopefully)

you could do Cream as long as it has a texture and Cream rug which could have a pattern would pull it all together some fancy finials or tie backs would complete the look i think

any other ideas apart from cream? I would just like to say at this point that I bloody hate this carpet...

also the room is currently a pale yellow with slightly darker yellow curtains that have a pale orange and green leave pattern on
. I have put up with this for enough now and ccan bear it no longer.
