what happens to left items in a council house after leavin property

i left some photos in a cupboard which i completly forgot to pick up after packing away,very silly iknow its naggin me now just wondered what hapened to left stuff? x

they will have people who go in and empty it ready for the next tenant. Was it very recent? you could give them a ring and see if it hasn't been cleared out yet they might still be there?
