bedroom sharing

how do people manage with dc's sharing bedrooms? i would love your tips.dd6 and ds 3 share a room, moving is not an option,when ds16 goes to uni (in 2 years) the plan is that he will share with ds3 on a part time basis.But for the next two years, how do i, store toys etc, give each child their own space, stop squabbles. any suggestions please?

bunk beds?

have got bunk beds.I think it will prob improve when ds is a little older , maybe? hopefully.

my boys had high beds with their desks etc underneath that way they could have half the room each! However we have recently moved them to the main bedroom and split it in 2 putting in a wall and a sliding door.
DS1 has to walk into DS2's bedroom a bit to get to his room but they do at least have their own space now.

When ds1 and dd shared they had bunkbeds, but not one on top of the other. They were at right angles IYSWIM, so that only half the lower bed was covered. That way an adult could still sit comfortably on the lower bunk for bedtime stories etc. There were two big drawers under the lower bunk, so that each child had their own 'Special Drawer', which was completely private.

They had their own drawers in the one chest of drawers, and I put a low-level clothes rail in the shared wardrobe for dd's dresses. They each had their own pegs on one side or the other of the mirror.

We found sharing not to be a problem as long as they felt their space was respected and that they had a corner to call their own. They were allowed to swap bunks freely, and if one was ill then he or she always had the lower bunk.

They shared quite happily until they were 8 and 5, when we finally had another room for dd.

pretty candles ,can i ask where you found a bunk bed that goes at right angles? was it made especially? it sounds great.

Flexa. But don't have a heart attack at the price. If you shop around you can sometimes find them for cheaper. They are very solid, though.
