Given our PITA buyers an ultimatum

We were due to Exchange Thurs or Fri last week. The EA left a message on DH's phone Fri afternoon saying that the buyers had arranged a CHAPS transfer that day but had missed the deadline so we would exchange first thing Monday. We haven't. What is soooooo infuriating is that they have had since last Tuesday to arrange the funds but still they have dragged their feet. All along they have been slow organising the survey & very difficult for the EA to get hold of. Our Solicitor has not been able to get hold of their Solicitor - he has ignored phone calls & an email from our Solicitor asking what is going on. We are very close to pulling out as we are that fed up with the buyers...but instead, we have instructed our Solicitor to tell their Solicitor tomorrow that we are extending the Completion date by one week (we are going into rented & the extra week will be handy in finding something suitable) & no negotiations. Plus, if we do not Exchange tomorrow we will be putting the house back on the market at a higher price (house prices have gone up around here). Why are buyers such a PITA?!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for letting me vent!

That's the right thing to do. That way the buyers get the message loud and clear and YOU get the knowledge of whether they're serious or not.

Good luck!
