There is a site online that sells it a little cheaper, however the installation costs put us off it was almost more to pay to have it fitted than the actual tiles.
Not sure what look your going for but we got the real wood as it was actually cheaper.

You need to get it put in professionally IMO

We have it in both bathrooms and it does look lovely (BUT I have heard Karndean is pretty similar and a lot lot cheaper)

It's worth asking around to see if you can find someone to fit it. We managed to get in touch with our local John Lewis fitter independently and he quoted us £10 per square metre to fit some Karndean - he reckoned if we'd gone through JL it would have been double that. He also said that in his opinion it wasn't really worth paying the extra for Amtico.

That's funny as our fitter said that in his opinion Karndean wasn't as good as the Amtico!?

We found a fitter through our kitchen fitter. Had it done last week. About 50 m2 and cost about £770 to fit. We bought ours online from here. Good price and service. If you are in Surrey I could recommned our fitter. The website also said they had a man in our area that could fit, but didn't get a price as I already had our man booked to do it.

I can't remember exactly how much it was in total but we had 3 rooms done and there was not much change from £2,000.

I went with a local independent shop that sold me the tiles and did the fitting, they were brilliant and I would recommend them to anyone in North London. They were slightly cheaper than John Lewis.

As for sales, I don't know. I think the tiles are made to order so it's not like Amtico ever really need to shift excess stock, but you might be able to negotiate on the fitting costs.

Why not try www.styleflooring.com There are lots of Amtico fitting images, so you can see how the Amtico is professionally fitted.

They also have a great detailed realtime quote system. Put your m2 sizes in and it gives a price on installation, you can get your Amtico fitting prices here.

They are based in the south east and have a Surrey phone number 01483 475606

I phoned them but for supply only they were more expensive. Not sure about the fitting though.

navyeyelasH · 25/09/2009 14:41

do a search on mybuilder.com and make sure you use amtico fitters; if you don't you guarntee withh not be valid.

TokenFemale · 25/09/2009 14:53

We had 25m2 fitted for £150, so definitely worth calling a few people to get quotes.

happy to hear you got it fitted for £10pm but i bet he wasnt a aproved installer so your garantee will not be worth anything .
let me talk you through the fitting plz.
if yours is a wood floor it must be plyboarded, ply costing aprox £5-£8pm ,then fitting it to the floor with screws or staples ,then screed the plywood as recomended by AMTICO(free i dont think so) at least £5pm2 feather finish on the joints ....or did he not bother?
then theres the actual fitting £15 pm2 usually. and thens theres his fuel..unless he lives with you lol.
you see for £10 pm2 he really cant have fitted it properly...warranty void .
If i said i am a fitter and charge aprox £35pm2 and have done for 10 years with no increase(ply, screed included) and i have seen so many bad jobs done for "cheap as chips fitters ...not aproved ".
you spent so much on the tiles why risk bad installing ?
A painter buys a tin of gloss paint for £15 he paints 5 doors for you but charges you £50 would you complain?but the tin was only £15.
your paying for his skills ,our installers use their skills to make your floors look amazing why complain ? lee
