I'm having carpet put into a room with a fireplace.

Currently hearth of said fireplace is mucky/dusty/poorly laid bricks which will be at a lower level to the carpet and its "luxury" underlay.

I would like to get a man to tile the hearth to make it look pretty

Which job should I organise first?

Thanks in advance for your help

Get the tiled hearth done first.
Carpet fitters will then fit up to the tiles.
Carpet is absolutely always the last job to be done.

yes, mucky jobs first or your beautiful new carpet will get ruined

If you do carpet first the tiler will want to pull carpet back up anyway to do the fitting
