Making Roman blinds : Hooked on Kirsties homemade craft programme.

I have owned a sewing machine for years and only used it 5 times!!!
After watching Kirstie's homemade house I have been inspired to make some roman blinds. Truthfully How easy are they to make ???
I am very much a beginner so will be starting with the small bathroom window but would really like to dress my main bay window at the front of the house.

We have quite a few fabric discount shops in the area and this is what is also appealling. I really don't want to fork out a lot of money when I could make them myself (well in theory anyway)
Am I being too ambitious and should I just head to the nearest blind shop?

Just poke them in the eyes with a sharp stick, that should do it.

It's not hard if you are reasonably handy with a sewing machine and have the time. I didn't see that episode of Kirsty so not sure how she did it but you can buy a kit that has all the rods etc that you need in it, I think they are £20 or £30. Or there may be a soft furnishings evening class that you can join for a term and they supply the know how and possibly all the fixings too.

Beware tho that is what I did and ended up making a career out of it!
