bills when renting?

When renting a flat, should the landlord transfer the bills/invoices for services (eg gas, electricity) into the tennant's name?

If he declines, how can I prove the address when requested to produce utility bill?

Is there some workaround?

We've always had the paperwork transferred in to our names when renting, landlord surely wouldn't want to be left with responsibility of paying if tenant defaults so can't see why it would be an issue. HTH

I've never known a Landlord to do the transferring tbh - its always down to the tenants to arrange it themselves.
