How much to build a standard single garage???

Looking at buying a house, it has an old single garage at the back but we think we would want to rebuild this - any ideas how much it would cost??

My DH who is a builder says approx £8,500. Hope that helps.

My MIL has juct been quoted £10,500 and told them where to stick it!

We've been looking into this as well - would like a garage-sized outbuilding to replace the existing falling-down one.

Does anyone know how much a prefab one would cost to put up, and possibly plumb in as it would be useful to stick the washing machine in there?
