Converting single garage into playroom

We have viewed a house & it has an integral single garage that could be converted into a playroom. I would guesstimate it is about 13'x8' - is that big enough for a playroom? Thanks!

That sounds enough to me, nearly all of our street have converted their garages or half converted them! (and they're not that big to half convert really but ok if you just need a bit of office and a small shed bit)

We have a double garage and DH wants to convert half to a playroom. I don't as I don't want to spend any money on a house I don't want to live in for any longer than I have too.

I think it would be a big bonus to the house we are looking at - DS could then either play in the playroom or bring some toys into the rest of the house. But as the playroom is the toys home at least the living room will be toy free in the evenings. Thanks

we did this in our house. it is something like 20' by 8' and is more than plenty big enough for our play room so pretty sure yours would be ok. toys end up in sitting room each day mind but at least they have a home to be returned to....

ours is about the same size as op, plenty of room!!

We are thinking about doing this in the house we are moving to (tomorrow aaaaargh!). 13x8 is more than big enough for a play room. Have you looked into how much it would cost and how big a job it is? Just wondering because we are looking into this ourselves. Sorry for the hijack!

acebaby, it will depend on the area you live but my friend had her single garage converted for about £5k, which also included the bay window. I am in the SE by the way. HTH
