Is it any good or just a gimmick?

We have one, inherited with the house. It would be good, especially saving me lugging a larger hoover upstairs, but the hose has perished and we can't locate a replacement

my sister
loves it.

i used to have one. it was fab. would suck up anything. best bit was the slot in the kitchen plinth under the sink at floor level where you could sweep stuff up to it then press a button and it sucked it all away.

we built ours in to the house when we built the house. no experience of a retrofitted one.

never once blocked it. socks, lego all went straight through.

would have one again like a shot

Viewed a house yesterday that has one (plus underfloor heating, built in sound system and special gadgety eye thing to let you control electrical stuff that is all hidden away together in a cupboard). I was quite impressed but wondered whether they work in reality.

It also has rainwater harvesting and heat recovery ventilation. They've clearly spent a few bob on it.
