we are hoping to decorate the lounge and i would like to have my fire removed and have a 'hole in the wall' but without a fire.
hopefully going to display something nice in the hole but dont know what?

does anyone have a 'hole in the wall' and what have you put in it.
am i going to regret having it done?
or is it fantastic !

have lived in my house for 16 years now and probably used the gas fire once so i know it wont be missed but am unsure what to do?

Pile of logs
Candles
Pine cones
Large vase with fresh flowers or top quality fake flowers
Any combination of the above?

I took out the fireplace but did put in a hole in the wall fire. It only goes on at Christmas or if it is really cold but it looks nice and you dont lose floor space with a hearth.

How about one of those fire bowl things that you could light once the kids are in bed
