Skint but need house repairs - HELP!

I'm totally skint but my house is in desperate need of some repairs and DIY.

My kitchen cupboard doors need replacing before any more fall off - anyone know where to get cheap ones?

Also does anyone know where I can find a skill-sharing club? Where someone would do some jobs around my house in exchange for childcare or tutoring etc... I've heard of such groups and think they're a great idea but where would I start?

I'd look in B&Q for their IT range of kitchen doors, they often have good deals and you can buy them one at a time if that helps with budget.
In terms of skills sharing, there is a "LETS" group which barters skills/gardening help/childcare etc where I live, look/ask in your local library for info, or even try googling.

I don't know how this would work in your kitchen but have you thought about taking the doors off and making curtains in a very 'Spanish' albeit temporary style. It would work if the kitchen was rustic styled.
