Can I show off my new kitchen?

Dh has made such a good job of it, he's done every bit by himself and I am so so proud of it.

here here and here
Not to everyone's taste but I LOVE it and the pics don't really do it any justice.

Please ignore the mess out the patio doors, it was an extension and the garden is still like a building site!

Navy, I meant to answer your thread last night. I'm sure its somewhere about 2.4m.

Tiny, lol, no he's one in a million!

Very nearly got the Ikea black one Matnan, but at the time they were changing suppliers and I had read online they were doing away with the black. Was raging when I saw it back in stores a few weeks ago. Seems they were changing suppliers. It would have been a damn sight cheaper too!

Ooops said that about changing suppliers twice. Forgive me, I'm tired!

That's absolutely gorgeous!

MumHadEnough · 25/06/2009 23:17

Have actually asked for the post about my complaint to be deleted. With hindsight, I probably shouldn't have put it on the net before they received my complaint. Oh and I didn't mean to name the store manager, lol.

It is different tho now Mum but is noce, it was the one we had decided on and got there to find they were discontinuing it.

MumHadEnough · 25/06/2009 23:37

I had a nosy round it a couple of weeks ago MatNan, I think its still lovely though. Is that what you've ordered?

Can I ask a question Mum?
Your kitchen is stunning and exactly what i would like - can't make up my mind whether black or white gloss...

BUT....I am SLIGHTLY worried that look will date quickly because it is so contemporary if you see what I mean.

Did you worry about this at all? If so how did you convince yourself otherwise?!

hambler · 25/06/2009 23:51

now how sad am I to have looked through your friends ....and get this...I know two of them!!

MumHadEnough · 26/06/2009 00:01

Nooooooooooooooooo, no way!!!! Who do you know?

OP posts:
MumHadEnough · 26/06/2009 00:03

Wasn't worried Hambler, I'm well known among my friends for ripping my house apart or moving house every 2 years! lol.

No more though, I'm settled here. If it dates I'll replace it (or dh will)

Going to guess (from your username) is it A&W you know?

hambler · 26/06/2009 00:07

too embarrassed to say because of my terribly embarrasing sex problem thread! Bloomin small world, eh? I know two of them and I have met a third (very small) person, also on your friends via one of them if you follow that!

I like your attitude re the kitchen. The house I am in is very old and I will probably be here for 20 years. You obv have good taste/style. Would you choose the same kitchen for a very old house you planned to say in?

MumHadEnough · 26/06/2009 00:15

Oh I have no idea, lol. Hey don't worry about that, I would never "out" someone like that. What goes on in MN stays in MN and all that.

Oh oh I think I know who it is. Does the very small person live far far away?

Hmmmmmm thats a toughie. Yes I probably would have still fitted it tbh. I couldn't live in an old house with old style fittings though iykwim, oak kitchens have never been my thing.

OP posts:
hambler · 26/06/2009 00:27

I am not a slave to old stylie stuff but do need to live with my choice probably forever!

The small person is on your FB friends and I met him once years ago via another person in your fb friends ,I think she looks after him sometimes along with her partner,(who is originally from Riddrie and has lots of sisters- the partner is not on your fb friends) but I don't know where the small person lives.

Also I don't know any of them that well

Confused?!?

MumHadEnough · 26/06/2009 09:35

Right, I know who you mean now ;-)

The one of the couple who is on my fb is my best friend's sister.

Wow it sure is a small world!!!!

Ladies, just an update for those of you that read my complaint letter to Homebase (before I asked for it to be removed).

I got a call from someone at head office, obviously the regional manager passed it on. They are disgusting with my treatment and will be writing to the store manager with suggested improvements (which I'll be cc'd on) and are also sending me a cheque for £350 by way of compensation . I'm delighted of course and it has restored my faith in Homebase's customer service, even if I will never set foot in that particular store ever again!
