Six weeks after moving in we received a letter from the council telling us we may be living on contaminated land. The investigations are taking forever and its looking bad - there are high levels of lead in the garden. It might involve the removal of 6 cm of soil from our garden, disposing of this and replacing it . The mature garden was one of the things we loved about the house.
So gutted and cross that nothing about this appeared on any of searches (including an additional environmental search we paid extra for .) Anyone else been through this?
