i'm new to this housebuying game. We had an offer accepted on a house at the beginning of April, had survey done and two further investigations of which we have the report and there is nothing which the mortgage company are insisting is done before we purchase.
I received a mail from my solicitor on the 28th of May stating they are awaiting search results and replies to enquiries from the sellers solicitors. Once they have these they will send out a property report with the documents for signing. When these signed documents are returned then we can agree a completion date.

We are in rented accomodation and our lease is up for renewal soon, so it is becoming increasingly important for us to arrange a date for exchange/completion as if it is beyond our lease we will have to address this.(we will be faced with signing a 6 month lease and we want to avoid this)

Is my solicitor dragging her heels, or do these things always move at this pace? I don't want to prod her if things are progressing as they should but then i don't want to leave her to it if she could be moving things along faster.

dp mailed them yesterday to say he will pay the extra postage for next day delivery if they can sort this and have the paperwork out to us by friday, as we are away for just over a week from Saturday. he asked for an immediate response whether this would be possible or not.

Predictably we've heard nothing. Not even an email to acknowledge our request, and that it is in hand.

I had enough so i phoned the office direct and asked to speak to the supervisor of the person who is dealing with our case (as she has ignored requests to give us the number for this person )........he was busy on another call so i have left a voicemail for him. I'll give him a couple of hours and if he hasn't phoned back i will ring again.

I'm just really fed up with the total lack of communication, it is rude and after all i am paying them to carry out a service for me.

We will defintely be putting in a formal complaint when this is all done, we have been ignored, fobbed off and mis-informed (they have subsequently made a correction to their website when we queried something, which was one of the things that led us to use this company)
