just a question we have uniclic quick step laminate flooring in dd1 and ds bedrooms. My dh is now really worried that if sometihng is spilt it will cause problems with the laminate.
I thought that laminate was much hardier than this and would withstand some moisture/liquid. If not I dread to think about them being sick which is bound to happen at some point, on when ds1 is potty trained, yikes

Small spills quickly wiped up will be okay. We have it throughout our downstairs and we've had spilt drinks and so on. As long as you're quick to mop up, it doesn't soak in the small gaps between the boards.

i agree. i had it down in my kitchen for 12 years and it was fine. i think if you have a big leak, like a washing machine or dishwasher overflowing, then the water gets behind and it swells and warps

so small spills like "accidents" and water from a cup or bottle should be fine, as long as you wipe it up straight away

i would prefer laminate flooring to carpet in children rooms. when we have the time/money we are going to rip up the carpet in the kids rooms and sand the floorboards as the carpet is a nightmare to keep clean
