Where are house prices now?

Are house prices back to 2004 levels now? I heard they were but am not sure & thought I would double check!!

Not yet down to 2004 prices in our area of London.

FindTheLocation - if it helps we are going from 1904 terrace (too, too small, needs updating) to 9 year old townhouse (major compromise on garden etc ). We were planning the "big move" to the country but we couldn't pin down exactly where we wanted to be long term and realised location is important. So we are moving round the corner, compromise is garden & rural idle...and for what we are paying could have been major house in middle of field if we moved 50-80 miles west (but drive to school, shop etc, etc).

I know, why can't we have everything we want! Am fed up of hearing the word compromise
