Nice areas in East Hertfordshire

What areas are nice to live in East Hertfordshire? We have been looking in Hertford but the houses are very expensive & we can not find anything within our budget of £500,000 max. We are looking for a house with decent size rooms & garden, a 2nd reception room & a garage, or at the very least off-street parking. Can anyone help? Thanks

Watton-at-Stone - a village 5 miles from Hertford
Dane End
Much Hadham, Little Hadham
or the Pelhams - Stocking Pelham , Brent Pelham

HOw old are your kids? Because you might want to factor in school catchment areas!

Excellent secondarys in Bishop's Stortford. Lots of areas - traditional, new builds etc for the money

secondarys or secondaries?

goes off to find dictionary...

We stayed near Little Hadham recently which was gorgeous. Friend's DCs go to excellent local primary school. Friend takes train to London from Bishop's Storford only 15 mins drive away.

Agree Little Hadham is nice but is a major bottleneck for traffic. There is a by-pass planned but I'm not sure if they have decided which side of the town to put it. (depends where all the councillors live I suppose )

Much Hadham is lovely but then I would say that as I live there.
LOL

Wow! I didn't realise I lived so close to Royalty

The place we stayed at is called Westland Green. I think the DCs go to school in Much Hadham. And yes, it is lovely Olivia.
