thinking of getting an extension, can anyone advise me?

am a bit worried (about everything!!), mostlt about this - what if I get plans drawn and we can't afford whats drawn on them? could I get builders to give me a rough idea of the costs involved before I get plans drawn up? I have a few different ideas but I don't know what costs would be involved and I have a really tight budget...

You can get a builder to run through different ideas bu, until they see drawings, the costs will be guestimates. I think even if you get drawings done and you can't afford it at least you can start either cutting back on the ideas or saving until you can get exactly what you do want.
