anyone got a green roof?

Interested in the possibility of a sedum roof either on our shed or maybe our extention. Anyone got one and can share their words of wisdom with me?? Was it more expensive than traditional roof, what about maintenance, did a specialist company lay it? Anything else you can tell me?

bet gardeners world website has an article on this.
Doubt need specialists to lay it tbh.
Think it is case of making sure roof is strong enough, building a frame for the soil to sit in and planting up. Pretty low maintenance I believe.

DP is about to make one to go on a summer house/office for a client. He's been reading up on the internet and getting lots of books. Seems pretty straightforward - just need to make sure roof is strong enough and I think he's looking at using a series of small, shallow trays. I think you'll need to look at membranes and the upkeep - although i think sedum pretty much looks after itself. If he's got any pearls of wisdom when he comes back later then I'll post! BTW - I'm very !
