How much does it cost to re-enamel a clawfoot roll top bath?

This is my dream bath and I just saw a few on ebay- am so tempted (beside the point we haven't found a house to buy yet- we are working on that- would probably need one with a big bathroom for that bath!).

Anyhow the bath would probably need re-enamelling- and i was wondering how much that would cost.

(any drawbacks to such a bath?- weight of the thing?)

The weight is a drawback as the floor in your bathroom may need to be strengthened and they also need a lot more hot water to fill them.

It is well worth it though, I love my roll top bath and couldn't go back.

You can buy DIY kits which are very cheap (£50), or get someone in to do it in situ (couple of Hundred pounds i think) or go the whole hog and get it properly baked (££££££££!!!).

ours has been done with a DIY kit and it is fine.
