Hello all,

Anyone got any experience of living in Skegness? What are the good areas, etc, etc? Where to find good nurseries?

Relocating and cannot think of what I need to remember. Can only think house, nursery, doctors, what should I not forget to do???

Thanks
Shell

Well ladies, I jumped on the train on Wednesday and took myself over.

My job is to start on the 22nd June so I got to get a move on!

I found a hotel which had a very friendly owner who was keen to pass on some hints and tips on where to go, and how to find places. Nice chap.

Anyway, I have managed to get a place in Winthorpe, 2 miles down the road so very cyclable/walkable. I also sorted a nursery out too. Ofsted reports it as good, and daughter was settled and happy in there on visit, and when I look through the fence, I can see my work. How fantastic is that!!!

Sorted everything in less than 48 hours. Now I just have to pack.......

The only thing I noticed was that there was definitely no orderly queues in Skegness. I guess thats probably fighting for bread and milk in high season for the reason!

Thanks for all your help.

Take care

Good luck with the move duck I think the locals will be friendly enough, they just get a bit fed up with loads of tourists jam packing the town out in the summer. But new residents will be welcomed I'm sure.

ShellySara,

We’re also thinking of relocating to Skeg :) How are you settling in? What’s it like?

Found yr thread while looking up “Life In Skegness” - was hoping to find info on which areas are good (safe, etc) and which are bad (not safe, antisocial, crime, etc)

Saw a fantastic house on the market in Ida Rd, brilliant period place with garden and garage, 2 mins from the sea. Seemed very cheap (5 bed, needs refurb, £125k offers above) which two weeks later seems to have been snapped up (not that we’re in a position to move just yet).

Is Ida Rd any good, does anyone know? queenrollo, wld appreciate yr input :)

Where else is good/bad?
