Am determined to get them on Watchdog again!
V V long story re all the problems so won't go into great detail but we've had in the last 2 years since we bought property:
massive flood due to pipes not connected properly

  • dp electric shock from unconnected live wire in loft
  • another flood from rainwater coming in upstairs windows that were not watertight due to cheaper lead used on dormers
  • very uneven walls and ceilings that all had to be redone
  • countless boiler malfunctions that they refuse to accept as their responsibility

Anyway on the last point, the boiler kept cutting out at least once a month and sometimes more often, and we were always calling up CC and they took days/weeks to get an engineer out whilst we were without hot water or heating. We finally thought we had got it fixed so we arranged for British Gas Homecare to come out and give us an initial service. They came today and condemned the boiler and put a big yellow warning sticker on it! Apparently "the appliance was incorrectly installed, flue pipes loose, inadequately supported. Water ingressing into air inlet duct causing rusting of flue and damage to boiler components."
So I am fuuuuuuming at CC that they have kept fobbing us off and saying they will arrange engineer as a goodwill gesture etc etc. There is so much more in the way they have treated us but too long to go into.
I am about to write email to them and to NHBC but just wondered if anyone else has had any similar experiences?

Try speaking to your neighbours - presumably same workmen across the development - and then, if you want to go for publicity, you will have a better case.
