DH and I have had a long term plan to move to Sussex (we currently live in London) but now we have DS we are thinking about that move happening in the next year or so. So this year we want to start looking at places in Sussex to move to.
The only real must have is that we must be able to walk onto the hills from the front door as the Downs are our key reason for moving to Sussex and we don't want to have to get into the car to experience them. A railway station would be good and it should be a big enough village/town to have a butchers, bakers, couple of restaurants, maybe a library and leisure centre. But we don't want it to be too big.
So far we think Hurstpierpoint and Arundel are reasonable options, and have written Midhurst off as not able to get onto the Downs from the door.
So any suggestions about where else we should be looking?
