Where can I get nice wallpaper?

Redecorating the living room, and decided to paper rather than paint (largely due to the walls being a bit ropey).
It's a modern house, and the living room is quite long, with patio doors at one end, and the kitchen with a little open plan thing at the other end. Our furniture is a burgundy sofa (we don't want to go burgundy!!) and a glass table. Curtains are silvery blue green.

Now, this is the problem...DH wants 'plain wallpaper' apparently. I figure we're getting a decorator to do it, and fancy something a bit more interesting. Anybody got any suggestions at all? Where do I start looking before I launch my patterned wallpaper campaign?

Look on ebay, tonnes of wallpaper on there, patterned and otherwise.

Hello Essie! I love Timorous Beasties wallpaper - when we move, we're getting some (I hope). It's expensive, but you'd only need to do one wall to get impact, and use plain on the others - thus pleasing both you and DH! Would look great in a modern house. I won't be offended if you don't like it though, it's not to everyone's taste!

Osborne and Little do some nice ones. Names of all the others escape me now!

Best thing is to find somewhere near you that has loads of the suppliers sample books -usually a decorators centre type place.

That way you can trawl through the books and get a better idea of colours/texture/scale of pattern.

Why not have afeature wall of one patterned paper and the others plain? Good compromise
