i have laminate flooring in my living room which was about midrange price. we have had it for about three years now and it is starting to look tatty with bits flaking off (fortunately furniture rea-arranged covers the flaking bits) but the downside of laminate flooring is that it all has to come up to replace one piece! looking to change. have a dog which is alway getting dirty and a 5 year old who has slight special needs and often drops food and drink on the floor. any ideas? My room is quite large and standard carpets don't fit unless pieced. What does everyone else have on their floors? what do you recommend? and where from? don't want to pay a fortune, about £10 to £15 a square metre or there about.

With a (dirty)! dog I think I would replace with more laminate. Carpet would be unhygeinic almost immediately.
