House viewings

Ok have house up for sale and had several viewings but each time from viewers who had not yet put their own houses on the market. It just seems such a waste of time for all concerned. Would it be so wrong to ask the estate agent to ensure that anyone else who wants to view (who has a house to sell) has at least actually got it up for sale and had their HIP done? It just seems such a hassle preparing for a viewing by someone who isnt really in a position to offer. Anyone else feel like this?. Anyone else trying to sell - what are you doing?

I think that's life really. Lots of people would not risk putting their house on the market until they find something they would like to move to.

I agree mine wouldn't go on until I found something i liked and had a provisional offer agreed too.

Bonneville - I can understand how you feel. When we last sold in Oct 07, we had at least 14 viewers. Out of them only about 3 actually had their house on the market. We eventually sold to a couple who had sold their own house to people who were buying a place near the University for their son. I could have kissed them!!

It's crap when you have dc trying to keep the place clean and tidy, especially when you feel so deflated after viewings knowing that it will lead nowhere. I can understand why people view first but it is soul destroying as a vendor.

Good luck and I hope you get a buyer soon.

In the end we asked that only people who were on the market came to view - a bit harsh i know but we have 4 children to tidy up after. We were just about to give up (!) when a lovely couple came along and made an offer there and then - after 2 years of viewings and keeping the house tidy its a relief - hang in there!!
On the other side of the coin, we found a gorgeous house that we fell in love with, it was that which prompted us to market our own home but, by the time we were for sale ourselves said dream home was gone!
