need to sound off for a moment!

been wanting to view ppty for over 2 weeks, finally got out there last week, but no key! this was after rearranging childcare, husband leaving work early etc etc etc.

no apology yet from agent, have left message this morning, its OUTRAGEOUS.

trouble is, we really like house and just want to move things on. ppty is only being 'discretely marketed' right now and they keep asking what sort of offer we might be making.

just exhausted with the whole bloody drama. either its on the market or not! shall we move on? but we love it! even tho it will max us out...

ok, feel better now. xxx

How frustrating! I feel for you. But, you say you love it & therefore I would try & stay on friendly terms with the vendor but you can let the EA know you are annoyed. Have you viewed inside at all or seen floorplans or is it the exterir you love? GOOD LUCK!

i would be intrigued to know why it's all so secretive. doesn't sound like the vendor is particularly keen to sell and so may be wasting your time (and eventually money). in your shoes I would pursue it abit more but view other properties too and not get my heart set on it.

Agree with Molly. Very frustrating, but sadly (IME recent experience) there are many vendors out there atm who feel ambivalent about selling. And they may not even be aware of that themselves, iyswim.

I would have one more go at viewing, if you get an apology from the EA, but DO look at other properties. We had our hearts set on a house we nearly bought last November, and were gutted when the chain broke down, but to my surprise I fell in love with a place I'd never have thought of a few months earlier...(didn't work out either, but thats another story!).

Good luck!

At least they are probably pissing everyone else about as well so, if you show a bit of staying power, you might be the last vendor left standing. Are the vendors elderly? I once came across an old couple who thought it was fairly outrageous that anyone would want to view the interior of their house before putting in a full asking price offer .

If they're being furtive and they're not elderly then there will either be a divorce or an inheritance involved.

yes, i suspect a divorce...
