What art do you/would you put in a kitchen/diner ?
It's for the wall opposite the window, currently plain cream. Other walls are duck egg blue with a cream kitchen and black work tops.
Dh refuses to have any more photos of the kids
Any thoughts ?
TIA

I have a big canvas with the lyrics to robbie Williams 'angels' on it!! Was from eBay, they do other songs too ( robbie, yeah, I know!!) I had it stretched on a frame. It's a bit different I guess

hmm dunno, have a browse on etsy?
i just got some beautiful prints from there, they were from the US but were soooo reasonably priced (cheaper than buying similar from allposters)

this

On a more useful note, you can get nice framed 50s and 60s ads - my friend has some brilliant Birds Custard ones.

this is a good site for posters that you could frame. They have lots of foodie ones if you like that sort of thing

What sort of things do you like? Surely it should be more taste-specific than room-specific? You can get great posters from films or exhibitions or events that you are interested in. I think virtually anything looks good if it is nicely mounted and framed (I have done this to magazine covers, bits of maps and even an old newspaper ad).

I had some old 50s magazine pages on my wall framed. Things like formica kitchens, gravy browning etc.

Have or did have the great bear as well as it gives you something to read while waiting for the kettle to boil

wombleprincess · 19/04/2009 21:36

some vintage food or drink adverts?

mistlethrush · 19/04/2009 21:38

Friends got their children to do a big canvas - using carefully chosen sample pots -looks great!

is your house old or new or in between?
What is the style of the kitchen - country kitchen or modern chrome sort of thing? I think this miight help you decide on the style of art?

pavlovthepregnantcat · 19/04/2009 21:42

in a simiar vein to Mistlethrush - some friends of mine got a huge canvas (on frame) painted it a bright rich red (wall paint), got their 6yo to draw some doodles on it. They went over the doodles with white wall paint, and it looks amazing. It looks like a professional modern picture.
