Opinion please..
Planning on having ceramic floor tiles in kitchen - initially thought wouldnt need underfloor heating as the centrl heating will warm it up anyway - then today went to a showroom place and stood on the tiles and they were verrrryyy cold.. now am confused..

They will be cold - you find them a lot in southern Europe where keeping the house cool is more of a priority. If I could have had underfloor heating under mine at not too much expense, I definitely would have.

We've got them without underfloor heating. Don't like them at all. Cold underfoot and if you drop anything (which I do a lot) it breaks into 1000 pieces and chips the tile.

we've got them too and tbh I haven't found them that cold, but then we wear slippers
do agree with the breaking thing though
they are easy to clean though which is a bonus

Have got slate floor, and it's not cold really - strangely.

Although we do have heating pipe running underneath the room in a couple of places, those bits get lovely, I could stand on them all day

Showroom likely to be way colder than at home.

Agree with underfloor heating. ALso what is the floor that will be under them made of. Our kitchen is on the first floor (4 storey house) and the floor is wooden beamed, so flexes resulting in cracked tiles, because the tiles don't flex. So we had to resort to slate tile effect laminate. . It looks goos but nowhere near as good as the real thing.

I've got tiles. I really wish they had heating under. My friend had a new house built and has underfloor heating under all the tiles. It is lovely.
