<SCREAMS> How can I sell my house in this feckin' climate??

We've lowered the price, it's clean and tidy, I've sorted out the garden, I like my estate agent, I've looked in the local paper but only one house advertisement in the classified sections so it looks like that isn't worth trying. WHAT can I do?? We're not even getting any viewings whereas everyone keeps telling me the market has really picked up recently. It's driving me crazy. PLEASE does anyone have any ideas?

I was about to put my house on the market due to teh dead cat bounce effect that has been happening here but have changed my mind and decided to stay put.The brighton bounce as it were has kind of come to nothing,11 houses 'sold' in my immediate area 2 weekends ago and 9 are already back on!Agent advised me that I could sell because of schools but am going to carry on with this house and think again in 5yrs plus.If you want to sell now fairly quickly i think the house has to be rock bottom price you can get away with

Thanks sorrento I am growing to love your eternal prickly nature.

Believe me noddy our house is rock bottom, to the extent that the estate agent has to reassure people that there is nothing wrong with it.

I am off to google dead cat.

dead cat bounce for other thickos like me

I think that may be what is happening, people seem to be in shock a how cheap our house is so they are coming out of the woodwork but I get the feedback from other estate agents that this is not typcial.

Well I'm back and almost at the end of the weekend running up to the biggest weekend in the property year (possibly in addition to Sorrento's deceased feline rebound...)

NOTHING has happened. Not even so much as one viewing. Nothing. Nada. Zip.

I saw on the other thread you were having some luck with yours Twinset which is great! Anybody else in luck? Anyone got the magic secret for house selling apart from kicking out grubby sisters or dropping our price?!

sorrento are you addicted to lurking around and being negative...

KirstyandPhilsLoveChild · 05/04/2009 19:56

Lol, everyone who posts (or lurks) in property knows and ignores loves Sorrento. Actually she has some good points sometimes, just scores low on delivery.

Yes that's right I am singled handedly attempting to bring down the entire property market

I actually thought I was being quite positive towards sellers in this thread.
