Cooker Hood........Can I change the colour???

When we had our kitchen refitted about 8 yrs ago the 'IN' colour was racing green.
Does anyone know if I can re-spray our chimney cooker hood with a chrome spray can?
Also if I do will it blister when I start cooking?

Well, never tried to paint something like that but in my previous house I restored a cast-iron fireplace and there is a special stove paint that can withstand high temperatures. I got it from homebase. Not sure of range of colours and mine had a matt finish.
